In May of 1997, I graduated cum laude from The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance and a minor in Economics.  I completed my teacher certification by taking the four classes required by the Alabama State Department of Education.  In 2004, I earned the esteemed rank of National Board Certification.  As a National Board Certified Teacher, I believe strongly in one of our core propositions: I know the subjects I teach and how to teach those subjects to students.  At Hoover High SchoolI enjoy developing and delivering quality curriculum and lesson plans which address broad areas of finance, business, and technology.  Professionally, my students' success is my most proud accomplishment.

In 2009, the Alabama Council on Economic Education selected me as an Alabama Economics Teacher of the Year Finalist.  Junior Achievement of Alabama named me their Teacher of the Year in 2013, and I've been honored as a Gold Star Teacher in 2014 and 2015 by Working in Support of Education (WISE) of New York.

I'm the proud mother of two handsome boys, Jackson (11) and Jonathan (5), and wife to an English teacher and coach.
