Student Check In/Out Policy
Students checking IN must come to the Attendance Office with a parent, parent note or doctor’s note.
In order for a student to check OUT during school, a parent /guardian MUST come into the school and sign the check-out slip. A note from a parent/guardian asking for the student to check out at a specific time will NOT be accepted. Please be prepared to show a photo ID when checking out your student.
In an effort to minimize classroom interruptions, students may ONLY be called by intercom to check out between classes or in the first or last few minutes of a period. Please keep the Hoover High School bell schedule in mind when coming to the school to check out your student. (The bell schedule is posted on the HHS website.)
ADVANCE CHECK-OUTS: If it is entirely necessary to check your student out during the middle of a class, or if you know you will be unable to come to the school between classes to check out your student, you have the option of coming to the school earlier on the appointment day (or even a day or a week or a month ahead of time) and signing a check-out slip in advance. The student will be given the slip the day of the check-out and they will present it to their teacher at the beginning of the period in which they will be checking out. The teacher will then allow them to leave quietly during the class.
FOR STUDENTS WITH CLASSES AT HOOVER HALL:
Students must come to the HHS Main Office to check in or out. We will NOT be handling these at Hoover Hall this year. If your student checks in or out during his/her Hoover Hall class, please complete the check-in/out slip at the main campus first. Then you (or your student) will need to drive to Hoover Hall to complete the check-in/out process. We cannot provide transportation to Hoover Hall during the middle of class. The shuttles only run between periods.
